About ZEPHYR'S POND
"ZEPHYR'S POND" is a tale about Zephyr, a special dragonfly, and her musical friends of the pond. It is also a love story between Zephyr and Zeek, a guitar-playing dragonfly from the wrong side of the pond, which comes to light as result of her being lost. Each evening, as the sun goes down, they gather by the water's edge and the music begins with Zephyr conducting her friends in a glorious symphony.
Izzy, a blue heron who plays the cello, does not join the other members of the orchestra because he has fallen under the influence of Baracus, an evil eel. The next morning, Izzy invites Zephyr to take a ride with him and fly together, something Zephyr loves to do. A sudden gust of wind blows Zephyr away from Izzy. She loses her bearings and falls into the Butterfly Forrest where she is feeling bewildered and disheartened. When Izzy flies back to the pond for help, Baracus delays him. Izzy soon realizes that Baracus has absolutely no intention of helping him find his lost friend. He then turns to the other members of the orchestra for help. The weather worsens and prevents them from searching for Zephyr. Desperate to bring the beloved Zephyr back home to their pond community, the friends develop a clever idea.
What will they do? Will their plan work? The adventure begins!

Cast of Characters
Zephyr: A small female fairy-like dragonfly, playful and sweet, with a whimsical personality.(Flautist/ Conductor)Female- Soprano
O'Rourke: A big bullfrog wears a bow-tie and jacket. Zephyr's best friend. Chief of the pond. (Tuba) Male- baritone or Female- Alto
Zeek: A male dragonfly from the wrong side of the pond. A cool character.(Guitar) Male- Tenor
Tamale: A skinny salamander with a wise- guy personality and comical voice. Walks with a funny gait. Latino street-wise (Percussion) Male High Baritone or Female- Mezzo/Soprano
Izzy: A blue heron, stately and dignified. Recently discontent, but has a good heart. (Cello) Male- Baritone or Female- Alto
Baracus: An evil eel filled with corruption, envy, and hatred. Has no remorse. Male- Base/Baritone
Pete and Repete: Twin street-wise, funny muskrats. Always scheming and arguing. They mean well. (Saxophones) Male
Jerome (Jeroma): An industrious beaver. Collector and builder of many things at the pond. Beaver like Buck teeth, talks with lisp and sometimes a stutter (French Horn) Male or Female
Professor Hootsworth: A wise owl, with slight British accent. Is always reading.(Viola) Male or Female
Amelia: A sophisticated, colorful, lady butterfly. Trustworthy and reliable with a Caribbean accent. Female- Alto
Giggly, Wiggly, Swiggly: Three ‘henchmen’ of Baracus. They move and squirm in funny jerky motions. A beetle, a worm, and a centipede that talk like wise guys in snickering tones. Very dysfunctional. Male or female
Cast: Assortment of pond characters who dance and sing. Turtle, ladybugs, bumble bees, spiders, etc.
